A refreshing and delicious Strawberry Basil Lemonade Recipe to keep you hydrated this summer!
Hello friends! We have just finished with our regular jobs and have taken a few days off to chill. If this was not a time of the pandemic, we would have traveled to some island and spend the time swimming, hiking and reading.
But we will be having a staycation instead.
We plan on doing little, cooking little, and just clear our heads from the months of hard work.
Good thing at least the weather is finally cooperating and just today I put on a summer dress for the first time this season.
It is also hot enough for cold food, ice cream, watermelon, and …. ice-cold lemonades!
Ever since we first made our first fruity lemonade, we have been making them every Summer, using a variety of fruits and also veggies. And you cannot go wrong with a Strawberry Basil Lemonade!
The recipe is easy as always, but the presentation and taste are something else!
You start by mashing strawberries with a couple of mint leaves, then run it through a fine-mesh strainer, which will collect any hard bits.
Add lemon juice, water, sugar to taste (you can also skip the sugar altogether!). Add in some decorations – more strawberries, basil, mint leaves.
Don’t forget the ice! We just freeze ice cubes overnight and then pulse them in our blender.
And that’s it! A pitcher of ice-cold strawberry basil lemonade will keep you hydrated for the day and provide you a change of the old plain water.
And if you don’t have strawberries at hand, try with peaches or watermelon!
